Don Bosco School, Sashipur marked the beginning of its new scholastic year 2026–27 on11th April 2026 with a solemn and inspiring Investiture Ceremony, centred around the theme “Strive for Excellence, Lead with Values.” The occasion was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Bivan Mukim, the Salesian Vice Provincial of Guwahati.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by the Principal, Fr. Nicodim Aind, who set the tone for the day by emphasizing the importance of leadership rooted in values. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the ushering in of knowledge and wisdom.
A graceful prayer dance captivated the audience and created a serene atmosphere, paving the way for the formal proceedings. The Chief Guest, Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukim, was then felicitated and warmly welcomed with the traditional Boro Aronai, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Adding vibrancy to the event, the hostel boys presented an energetic English number, delighting the audience. Miss Evangeli further inspired the students with her encouraging words, urging them to strive for excellence in all their endeavors.
The highlight of the ceremony was the oath-taking segment. The Principal invited the Head Boy, Head Girl, Assistant Head Boy, and Assistant Head Girl to take their oath of office, followed by Class Captains, Vice Captains, House Captains, Vice Captains, and Games Captains along with their deputies. Fr. Bivan Mukim conferred badges and handed over the captains’ diaries, officially entrusting them with their responsibilities.
In his address, the Chief Guest motivated the students to excel in all aspects of life. He encouraged them to adopt disciplined study habits supported by a well-planned timetable and consistent hard work. He also congratulated the school for its excellent performance in the Board Examinations and challenged the current Class X students to achieve even greater success.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the newly appointed leaders, Shreya Pradhan the Head Girl thanked the school authorities for placing their trust in them and pledged to uphold the responsibilities with sincerity and dedication.
The programme concluded on a joyful note with a beautiful cultural dance, followed by the Vote of Thanks delivered by the Vice Principal, Fr. Jyotish Beck, who expressed appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the event.
The ceremony not only marked the beginning of a new academic journey but also instilled a spirit of leadership, responsibility, and commitment among the students.
