The campus of Don Bosco School Sashipur came alive with enthusiasm, creativity, and the spirit of healthy competition during the Lt. Fr. Elias Kerketta SDB Memorial Cup – Inter-Class Choral Recitation Competition 2026, held on 9th May 2026. The programme was organized in loving memory of Lt. Fr. Elias Kerketta SDB, the former Principal of the school,(1994-1997) whose dedication and contribution towards education and the growth of the institution continue to inspire the Don Bosco family.
The programme began with the welcome address delivered by the Principal, Fr. Nicodim Aind, who warmly welcomed the gathering and encouraged the students to participate wholeheartedly in the spirit of unity and excellence. He also extended a special welcome to Fr. Albinus Dhanwar, Bro. Ajit MOP, and the respected teachers who had graciously come as judges for the competition.
A solemn and heartfelt tribute was then paid to Lt. Fr. Elias Kerketta SDB. Senior Teacher Mrs. Constantina Hasda, who had once been appointed by Fr. Elias himself, led the school community in remembering and honouring the life and legacy of the great educationist. The tribute created an atmosphere of gratitude and reverence as students and teachers reflected upon his invaluable contribution to the institution.
The Inter-Class Choral Recitation Competition officially commenced with an energetic performance by Class III A, while the programme concluded with the presentation by Class X. The entire school was divided into three categories — Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior Sections — allowing students from different age groups to showcase their talents in pronunciation, expression, coordination, rhythm, and teamwork.
The competition witnessed remarkable enthusiasm and preparation from every class. Students displayed confidence, synchronization, and creativity through their powerful recitations, making the event both entertaining and inspiring. The judges had a challenging task evaluating the performances because of the high standard maintained by all the participants.
After a long and closely contested battle among the classes, the results were declared by the Principal.

- 2nd Place: Class IV A

Junior Section
- 1st Place: Class VII A
- 2nd Place: Class VI B
- 3rd Place: Class VII B
Senior Section
The Senior Section witnessed the toughest competition of the day. Finally, Class X A, with their outstanding teamwork and impressive presentation, secured the 1st Position.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Fr. Jyotish Beck, the Vice Principal of the school. He congratulated all the winners and participants for their hard work and dedication. He also expressed sincere gratitude to the judges who had come from Don Bosco School Kumarikata for their valuable presence and support. Special appreciation was extended to Miss Janali Basumatary and Miss Evanjuli Goyari for successfully coordinating the entire programme.
The event finally came to a joyful close with the distribution of trophies and prizes to the winners amid loud applause and celebration. The competition not only highlighted the talents of the students but also strengthened the spirit of unity, confidence, discipline, and teamwork among them, making the memorial event a grand success and a fitting tribute to Lt. Fr. Elias Kerketta SDB.
